Sjöbrynet

“Sjöbrynet” – de waterkant – is een passende Zweedse term voor die altijd prachtige plek waar land en water elkaar ontmoeten. Dit hoekje van een meer baadt in een prachtig glanzend licht dat alles een bijzondere lichtheid geeft.

Hier was het vooral dat glanzende, heldere licht wat me boeide – de manier waarop het water schittert en alles een zekere vrolijkheid geeft. Prachtig zijn ook die diepe, koele schaduwen die in de bootjes vallen, waar het hout donkere, mysterieuze hoekjes creëert die contrasteren met al dat licht eromheen. Het water vertoont die typisch Zweedse amberkleur, maar dan met die prachtige lichtheid erin. De boot lijkt bijna onderdeel van het landschap te zijn geworden, met zijn verweerde hout dat de kleuren van het omringende groen en bruin heeft aangenomen.

“Sjöbrynet” – the water’s edge – is a fitting Swedish term for that always beautiful place where land and water meet. This corner of a lake bathes in a gorgeous gleaming light that gives everything a special luminosity.

Here it was especially that shimmering, clear light that captivated me – the way the water sparkles and gives everything a certain cheerfulness. Also beautiful are those deep, cool shadows that fall into the boats, where the wood creates dark, mysterious corners that contrast with all that light around them. The water shows that typically Swedish amber color, but with that beautiful brightness in it. The boat seems to have almost become part of the landscape, with its weathered wood that has taken on the colors of the surrounding green and brown.
